I have my Grandpa's Oliver 60 that had sat on blocks in my uncle's machine shed for 30+ years. He had drained all of the fuel and coolant from it, so the carb was actually in good condition. The sleeve seals dried out though and would leak all of the water into the crankcase. Probably the biggest problem was in the transmission. Everything above the oil level in the trans had rusted. When I restored the tractor, I had to replace all of the bearings in the trans to quiet it down. You might want to pull the oil pan off the engine to see what's inside. There were large amounts of sludge in my Oliver's engine pan. If you think your engine is in good condition and you don't plan to overhaul it, cleaning out any sludge would be wise in my opinion. These old tractor engines usually had a bypass oil filter meaning only a small amount of the oil pumped to the engine goes through the filter. The oil from the filter goes back to the pan. Any dirt, etc gets pumped into the bearings, etc.

Jon called me to help him discover why his tractor wouldn't start
