Thanks Loren, Brent, roaddevil49 and casenut1. Not used to this forum so hope I'm responding properly. This is definitely a Case tractor, not built in the UK and not a David Brown or Case/IH. My '61 IH B275 was built at Bradford in the UK. This one must be an early model of the 430 gas based on reference to the operator's manual and the IT service manual; the manual steering appears to be an earlier set up and the little slide lever under the front of the hydraulic pump housing for engaging / disengaging the pump was apparently only fitted to early models. This one has manual transmission (not Case-O-Matic, thankfully) and I believe a 3 range gearing setup and a lever on the left side that supposedly lets you operate a live PTO. No chance to try it all out yet because we have lots of pieces for fixing and a fair bit of machining going on but it should all come together eventually. Much bigger project than I originally thought!
Anyone have any idea if model and serial numbers were marked anywhere else other than on dash - which seems a pretty 'odd' place to put this info. It would be nice to pin it down but not essential in the overall scheme of things. Objective is to restore to a useful tractor (has FEL) but not an exact replica of the original.
