On the transmission side of things, I would expect to find an actual oil seal that rides on the shaft next to the bearing. That seal would keep the transmission fluid in the transmission.
But in the diagram, the only thing I see is a large o-ring and the bearings. I don't get what the o-ring seals against - but I don't really care about that... (or do I? IS that the seal? If so, I don't quite get it).
I then see a seal on the differential shaft like I'd expect on the differential case which would be on the outer side of the brake drum when assembled. I can see that part in the diagrams, but it's obviously a different size than what would have to go on the transmission side of things since the shaft is stepped down in size - (IF there IS a seal there that is).
Is the diagram missing a seal?
I guess I should just take it apart and see - but I'd rather wait to get the parts I need first before ripping it apart. I'm just very confused about that seal, which is the part I THINK I need the most to fix my leak!!!
If there is a seal there, and it's not on the diagram - any idea what size it is so I can get it ahead of time?
