sliding barn door track for overhead lifting

I saw this in FARM SHOW mag and was courios if anyone else had tryed it? I have old square style track and three trolley hangers just laying around. My concern is will trusses hold much weight with track fastend to bottom edge. Would splitting an M be to much ? Thanks everybody.
