I've got a 100 hp tractor I mow with using a mounted mower conditioner. (Pottinger 305) The mower is 10 ft cut and unlike a discmower, the weight is carried by the tractor so the bar doesn't drag hard. Mower weighs 2500 lbs and is 10 ft past the tire obviously.
This unweights the outside tire quite badly, especially when mowing with the mower down hill. Unknown to me my tractor had this tire loaded with 1000 lbs of calcium, but I don't want to load the new tires.
I think the bolt kit for wheel weights will only let me stack 3 x 108 lbs on this outside tire.
I was thinking if I got a rusted out 34" snapon dual rim, and old 30" rim, I could weld up a donut to be filled with about 1000 lbs of lead that I could pop on and off for mowing. I have another tractor with a loader to mount it or I could make a parking stand for it.
Ever been done? Am I just going to break j hooks and eyelets?
