Nebraska Tractor Test #607. Unimog 30 Diesel. March 1957. 1. 28.43 Belt HP 100% maximum load for 2 hrs. 12.48 Hp Hr/gal. 2. 20.57 drawbar HP under Test H=ten hr rated load. 11.42 hp hr/gal. 3. 24.01 HP pulling 4705 lbs@1.91 mph with 13.99% wheel slip & 2554 crankshaft rpm. Test vehicle weighed 6729lbs with operator however during test J the weight was reduced to 4987. Test J was an operating maximum load test that produced 25.02 HP pulling 2450 lbs @ 3.23mph with 5.5% wheel slip in 2d gear. UNIMOG 30s had a 4 cyl diesel engine mfg by Mercedes Benz I head with 2.950 bore and 3.937 stroke. 107.8 cu in of displacement. 12 volt electrics. It had 8 forward speeds the first 2 being creeper speeds followed by 6 numbered speeds. I used to see them around airports. Haven't seen one in years. They were marketed by JI CASE for a while.
