From personal experience. Bought a new Dodge Omni
Drove it through 2 normal oil changes (approx 6K) and then switched to Amsoil which was changed yearly (25K) New filter at 12K. Sold car with 114K and suggested to new owner that they change at 125K. Car was totalled before oil was to be changed. Engine transplanted into another body and the last I knew they had no intention of every changing it (the oil)again. Oh well, I tried. I switched to Amsoil in a vehicle I bought with 98K and yesterday it turned 188K and all is well.
My recommendation. Run it 3K and switch to Amsoil.
