Ford 755 Alternator question

just sold my old 4500 tractor for something a little bigger (also read a bigger pain in the back) I got a 755 TLB 1983. There have been no modifications to the electrical system. I was just checking the belts the other day and noticed a Green wire with a cap clip (fits over a threated screw type) hanging loose. It is in the same wiring harnise going to the alternator. The question is where does it go. It is the 51 amp alternator. Thanks Ken
