This photo is in response to a post by James Howell around Christmas time. (I was unable to get it to post then) It wasn"t my Christmas gift but my birthday in June 1953. I always looked forward to going to the John Deere store with my Dad, so much to see. The new tractors and equipment, the new toys but I was most captivated by something up high on the shelf, the new John Deere 60 pedal tractor. Oh how I dreamed what it would be like to own and drive such a beauty. When ever we went back I would look first to see if it was still there and wish we could afford something like that. Time passed and I would day dream about that fine tractor. A few months went by and it was my birthday and like most children I was excited and wondering what gift I might receive. You can see by my face what I thought of my gift.
