Be sure both batteries are good. If one shows a bad cell, change both unless they are almost new. I had an intermittent starting problem three years ago with my '01 F-250 Power stroke. The five year warranty had just run out. Replaced the cam sensor, and seemed to solve the problem. About two months later, on MLK day, we had no school, so I went out to take it down to replace the original five year old batteries. It would not start. The dealer picked it up, checked it out, and kept getting a low oil pressure reading, according to the codes. Some other codes were giving crazy reading. It had s/mgr & diesel mech stumped. I told him to go ahead & put new batteries in it. (his price was as good as any on quality batteries) He called me back in a couple of hours and said the new batteries had solved the problem. No problem since. I knew I was pushing the batteries, but they showed no sign of weakening. I'll probably change these out this fall. Just my two cents.

Jon called me to help him discover why his tractor wouldn't start
