That's right the guv is too danged big and powerful too. When I went and looked at a new F350 powerstroke this last time I ended up keeping my 92. The base price was too high, but by the time they got thru with the automatic butt wiper and powder puffer and make-up mirrors on the sunvisors it was out of my range. The $26,750 pickup ended up at just a few bucks shy of $40,000 with TT&L. The saleman was'nt even interested in trying to locate me a regular farm truck. He said there was'nt that much demand for them anymore since everybody wants all the options. When I got the 92 I ended up with lectric windows and carpet but I did'nt want either one. To my way of thinking what has ruined the truck market is the fact that due to having to have them we will buy them just about anyway we can get it, and that's what screws up the price so bad. I bought the last International pickup our dealer had when they were discontinued. That was the last good truck I've had. It was just like I wanted (plain Jane)and lasted for many moons. I think it was either a 1975 or 1976. I think it was a 75. It was a 3/4 ton reg cab with a 345 motor-4 speed direct tranny with 4.10 rearend. It would pull and carry as much or more than a F250 w/7.3 5sp OD I have and it had a solid front axle you could rebuild the king pin set up yourself. I miss the corn binder pickups. If they still made them thats the kind I would still be using.
