If you have a compressor and spray gun available you can do a much better job and cheaper with it. I'm not an experienced painter, but the older synthetic enamels are easy to use. 95% of the work is in the prep and every time I have been disatisfied with my painting it has been the fault of the prep, not the painting. I have seen some very respectible paint jobs done with spray cans but I think a spray gun is better and cheaper. Just my opinion. Paul
