All good points. No, I don't propose that we all stop giving advice, that's the whole point of this board, and a darn good source it is, too. And I agree with your remark about "a slip of paper". I've seen some folks with "Master" licenses that shouldn't be allowed to carry a screwdriver. My previous comments were made from the viewpoint of possible liability, and perhaps that's not valid. Most folks who come to this board got here while making a concentrated effort to find specific information. Based on that, perhaps you CAN safely assume that most of them are capable of evaluating the advice they see here, and choosing whether or not to follow it. But, I have seen some shockingly bad advice (rarely, fortunately) and I guess I'm just enough of a pessimist to think that eventually bad advice will show up at the same time as someone not qualified to evaluate that advice. The results could easily be VERY unfortunate. Just my opinion, of course.
