Some of You may recall ,the agony of pricing 2 of my Dads(he passed away in August 08) tractors for family members , SO ,. here is update.... B-I-L and Sis ended up with tractor,The Little Jd L that looked like it had been to the moon and back had everyone bidding to the moon .So, nephews yeilded.. (Dad give $75 for the running JD in 1969) The idea of everyone putting up appraisal prices and averageing them got shot down by one of my sisters.. SO , .everthing went to Consignment auction and B-I-L paid highest bid price..Which WAS DEAD CENTER of My HI and LO price that I would had put in the Appraisal Hat ,I had confidentially told one of My Close nephews what my thoughts were the day of auction .(He is tellin 'Everyone, "Jim was Right on the Money ")....Auction Lasted 7 hours there were over 400bidders registered The Tractor sold at halfway point around noon , the weather was good ....Here Is How it went :::In the end, One of My brothers bid the tractor back home .. B-I-L did not bid ,, But was ready to if it was at level He could afford ,ONLY IF ,, my brother Stopped bidding (when price met what Mom expected to get Which was never diclosed ) , All said and done B-I-L and Mom agreed on Exactly on final bid price couple days after auction . NONE of US have a Money Tree ,, Mom Could had asked More , And B-I-L could had paid more , family wisdom prevailed ,No one paid more than General public would pay ( they were taking $50 bids).,Tractor went to Who needed it Most , Any of Us could had Bought it regardless but wanted to yeild to Sis ..And as Far as I know All are REASONABLY Satisfied ..scarcely a grumble in the bunch ,,And That Ain't Bad for our family !LOL ! . I did buy 3 pcs back .Keep in mind Dad Sold alotta stuff to Us over the last 30 yrs As we agreed on price , And Mom Still has the 430 CASE diesel(That is an Heirloom destined to stay in family ) and a few things Yet,, Hope All is well in Your family , Blessings ,Jim

Today's Featured Article - New Life for an Old Allis - by Tyler Woods. My friend Jon, has an old '39 Allis Chalmers B. He thought it a marginal tractor that had long since served its time. She smoked terribly and never had much power but he couldn't afford another so he was limping along with what he had. Jon's Allis has a small front loader and though it doesn't carry much, it serves his needs. It was the hard starting and low power that made him think it was time to replace the old girl. Jon called me to help him discover why his tractor wouldn't start
