I am finally getting to the stage for buying some new shoes for this recent restoration. Alas, the tires were typical worn out, flat and rotting off the rim. One 12.4 X 28 that was so small, it just looked wrong. The other was a 12.75 original with the old Firestone (cross-hatch?) design. This tractor does have the right fenders and I was wondering if anyone else has the maximum width tire that would fit.
I am looking to put 14.9 x 28 Good Years on it. Should it be able to handle those without rubbing on the fenders? Would a better bet be 13.6 X28? Just looking for those that have had experiance in this situation with their own "D"s. Thanks in advance! Larry
