We had a old cow that made it a point in the summer time to crap on the walkway as she headed to the pasture. We let each cow out as she was done milking. My brother was waiting out side as she never had any hurry to her, and smaked her in the head with a 2 x 4. She dropped down dead on the spot. I decided we had all been in on the gig and it would be worse if we got no meat too boot. So I ran to the house to get a knife to stick her with. As I made up my mind as to where to stand while cutting her throat she moved and eventualy got up and walked slowley to the pasture.
My dad never ever hit a cow regardless, so he never will know unless he looking down from heaven and see me typing this.
Always thought my youngest brother would spill the beans. He was the one we always threatened if he told on us. He didn't tell, but always had coments to mom and dad, like we weren't racing the tractors, we werent riding the calves like the rodeo dudes. We weren't smoking, and the better one --we werent throwing matches down the outhouse pit and caught the toilet paper on fire we all just need a drink of water to take outside to drink.
