NE IA U.S. Federal standards, Canada similar. Broken lane divider lines, yellow on two way, white on one way/divided roads- 10 foot line with 40 foot space, (10 feet on 50 foot centers). Yellow line is always on your left. Short broken white line, 5 plus 20,(5 on 25 center) lane will end soon. Usually within 500 feet, such as exit only lane, or entrance/ acceleration lane. Illegal to cross double solid yellow line except to turn left into driveway. Illegal to cross DOUBLE solid white line. NOT illegal to cross SINGLE solid white or yellow line.
