False shortages, news hype, gouging,.. If most people are running around on a 1/4 tank because they can't afford to put a weeks pay check in their tank and then hear prices is going to jump .50-1.00 a gallon, there's a lot more places for excess fuel to go. And then if you have a little storage space this false shortage perpetuates runs on gas and if the stations don't order regular because they haven't been selling as much, everything just falls in the speculators hands. 3.59 to 3.99 in a couple hours here.
