On a 79 it should be a 351M.
The 351 windsor is built like a 289-302 and was the one Ford used in the later years untill replaced by the modular motors.
The 351 cleveland (70-74) was an animal all by itself, very little would interchange with the 400 except the heads.
starting in 75 Ford built the 351M to replace the 351 cleveland. It was made by destroking the 400(4in bore X 4in stroke) by 1/2 inch to make the 351M (4in boreX 3.5 stroke). By doing this ford was able to shut down the 351 cleveland line and build 400's and 351M's on the same line.
The 351 windsor was the best of the three for a pickup, better oil system and ran cheaper.
