Good question and I'd like to hear the answer to this too considering........It's an IH engine and not even a true ford design. PLUS.....The original 5.7 chevy's were of the gas family and redesigned to run diesel. Afterwards when everyone got sick and tired of replacing crankshafts at 75,000 miles they designed the 6.2 and that was blueprinted from the ground up to be a true diesel. NO gas conversion on this one or it's sister engine the 6.5. Richie
