Sluggish 3-point

The last snow we had I used my 871 ford with blade on back to remove snow but found 3-point raising and lowering very slow. It will raise entire height but just real slow. I suspect moisture in fluid as tractor is kept outside under tarp. If so, how hard is it to change fluid and is there a filter that mite need to be changed as well? It has select-O-speed trans also.
