When I put the Detroit 6V-71 in my 97 Dodge Ram 3500, it was a big job to figure out how to fit that engine in. The mounts are a work of art, and the front axle had to be beefed up a bit to handle the weight. My tranny is out of the same truck the engine came out of, so it just bolts right up to the engine. Now that I have it all done, its a fun truck to drive around and all, but I"m kinda feeling it in the pocket book and I"m starting to wish that I had just overhauled the Cummins that was in the truck. I"m still adjusting and modifying things after a year of having the truck driveable.
