The fan was turning the day before. I had topped off the radiator with antifreeze the day before. After it quit I turned the key off and had to get ready for a Christmas party. I didn't try retarting it until the next day. The starter ingaged but the engine wouldn't turn even with a battery booster hooked up. At that point I had to pull it out of the way to unhook the manure spreader. I left it in High gear and gave it a tug but there was too much much snow and ice(I live in a lake Erie snow belt) and I just spun the pulling tractor's tires. I'm going outside now to check coolant.
