So we got the little Case 485 stuck well we always have the IH 1066 but it hasn't run since last season.
Victor and I try jumping it with as many batteries as we have jumpers for to no avail she just won't crank fast enough or long enough to start.
So I pull the starter take it home and tear it down (I always say do it right the first time to save time and money). The commutator is black, I mean black burnt and copper melted . Can I clean it up without turning it. I get my Emory cloth out and a file to hit the high spots and go to work, it comes out looking pretty good so Victor puts it back in the next morning an it fires right up. Good for now. They hook on to the little case and pull it free. Wait something else goes wrong the IH 1066 is buried up to is a$$ hole in mud and won't move. Now I have to take Ol' faithful (Case LA) out to the farm and try to pull it out. As I said things were not going that good until we loaded that truck with 800 trees in 3 hours a record for us. Walt PS now how do I get rid of that darn crotch itch BUMMER.
