This is another one of those dryland implements that have fallen out of favor these days 'cause it doesn't cost enough, it works too darned good and it's just plain way too simple. :>) It's a rod weeder. This one folds out to a width of 30' then over and back so that the single 1" square rod goes in the ground in a "sideways" fashion. The tires are chained up to drive and spin the rod backwards to the forward motion of the machine. It runs along right under the surface of the soil about 2" deep and literally "pulls" the weeds out by the roots. Very close to a 100% kill with this thing without disturbing the soil and/or moisture. I'll take some pictures of it working next September. Allan
