Here in SE MN its been a very dry year to. We received an inch last week but the pastures are so short they are going to need a lot more to get growing. I have two herds and the one I'am going to have to start feeding about mid August without serious rain. Its been close to 60 years since my dad before me or I have had to feed cattle before November. I have been buying any extra hay I can get my hands on and hopefully I can get by without chopping corn. Hav'nt had to buy hay in 60 years either, always have extra to sell.
