Another problem with laundry can occur if you leave it wet in the washing machine for any extended time. It will sit in the machine and mildew enough to cause it to smell even when completely dried in the dryer. The best thing to do is get it into the dryer as soon as the washing machine is finished with it. Been there, done that. Wondered why my clothes had a smell to them after they had been washed.
