The pump down near the rear axle, the main tractor pump. Looking at one for my 484, they want $475 for the pump, but I was wondering weither I should pay to have the dealer replace it. So there must just be a few bolts holding the thing in?. I am pretty sure it is the pump thats ailing it now, I had my local dealer go in and clean the screens all out on it, replaced the oil and filter and it still runs into problems with the 3pt and steering failing to work right while the hydraulic pto is in engaged, and the greater the load on the pto, the worse it gets on the 3pt and steering, but the pto apparently gets priority because it doesn't slow down or slop, but the steering will act starved for oil and the 3pt gets slow and jerky, or just doesn't work at all. I've been trying to do some brush hogging with it and its being a pain and getting worse, so I got to do something. The dealer said those screens were so plugged up when he cleaned them that it was a wonder that it worked at all, full of brake band debris. Does this sound like the pump or do you think maybe they missed some of the trash when they cleaned out the rear end and the screens are plugging up again?.

Jon called me to help him discover why his tractor wouldn't start
