OP: We're in NE Portland, near NE42nd/Fremont. Don't know how to make a link, but go to oregonlive.com; in the search box at top of page choose "Oregonian" and put in keyword "grass crop". 8-17-06 story titled "Gene-tweaked grass on loose in Oregon' by Alex Pulaski should come up; clicking on thumbnail gets full story. Scotmac: I wish we could designate safe areas...but pollen is designed to move around, and what with animals, birds, insects, the winds, plus human transportation (on peoples clothes, truck tires and loads, processing, train transportation, etc etc) how can anyplace remain uncontaminated?? I wish I could be optimistic...
