My wifes uncle is like that. He has over 100 old tractors, dozers, you name it, he probably has one of everything. Every one has been bought, brought, parked, and well, thats about all they do after they are to his place. He still goes to auctions and buys. I want to buy some from him but he says, "Ahh, I'm gonna fix that up some day" or" I may need that some day" ( for the ones that run). He cant get a job ( health reasons), they have no money to restore any of them, and like I said he has over a hundred of them. They cant afford 2 ply a*s wipe, but he will not sell one darn peice. Some have been sitting in the same spot for 25 years, and they are almost all complete. Wife ays her sides kinda weird that way, no kidding, YA THINK! I want to run out there and bring some sweet corn, that way the wife can visit (HA HA), and I can get an inventory of what he all has. Maybe if I offer him a very large sum for everything he would bite, but I will bet my lucky dollar that if he dies next week his kids will call the scrap man. I'll have to take a pic of his tractor pasture next time I am out that way.

Today's Featured Article - New Life for an Old Allis - by Tyler Woods. My friend Jon, has an old '39 Allis Chalmers B. He thought it a marginal tractor that had long since served its time. She smoked terribly and never had much power but he couldn't afford another so he was limping along with what he had. Jon's Allis has a small front loader and though it doesn't carry much, it serves his needs. It was the hard starting and low power that made him think it was time to replace the old girl. Jon called me to help him discover why his tractor wouldn't start ... [Read Article]
