(carb, spark, gas ect are easy fixes) thanks" Power robbing ills that don't require a overhaul would be a gummed up carb, sticky float valve in a carb, off timing, burnt points, clogged air filter, worn electrodes on plugs, half clogged fuel filter (strainer), old fuel.
If you have a worn out engine that needs valves or rings there is no "cheap" repair and fixing everything I listed above will only give marginal results.
