Went to mow last night with the stupid setup. The experts were supposed to be there as well, but they didn't show up. I took the mower off, and dropped the lower arms as far as they could possibly go. Not sure exactly what stops them - I hope it is nothing wimpy... Anyway, I made a couple measurements and started drilling. I moved the lower hitch pins on the mower down far enough that when I reattached it, the mower sat an inch or so off the ground with the arms down as far as they can possibly go. I also readjusted the rear wheel, something that the "experts" didn't bother to do. They had the rear way to low, so it was cutting the grass a thousand times instead of just once. Mowed for an hour or so. Worked very well. I used third gear for a lot of it, whereas I had problems even in first gear the way they had it set up when I got there. I wonder if they will ever even notice that the C-Clamp on the control lever is gone. I may install a couple chains as Bill suggested as well, to take the weight off of whatever the internal stop is that is holding the level now. I assume that it is the hydralic piston bottoming out, but don't know if this is a long term good or bad thing. Rick
