Metallurgy has improved as well as heat treating has become even better thru the years. It may well be that your supplier is buying inferior parts from a country that is supplying us with junk and we are buying it instead of good stuff made here. We seem to always go to the cheaper store to buy stuff without thinking of the quality or where it is made.
