Our county passed an ordinance about dogs and cats. They wanted to charge a registration fee for every dog and cat in the county {outside or indoor pet}. The fee was 25$ (I think that is right) a year per animal unless it was spayed or neutered, then it would only be a onetime fee of $5. I have two dogs (one neutered and one not), and I just took their collars off. We live about 5 miles from the closest town (out in the sticks), and 11 miles from the city where the ordinance originated. So far as I am concerned, the two dogs (which originally moved to my house from the neighbor"s house) are strays! I just put food and water out for them (because I am so compassionate), and they sleep on our porch. I know a county cop {another neighbor of mine) that did the same thing with his dogs! This county also came up with a junk vehicle law, where a person has to build a fence to hid vehicles that do not, or have not moved in a month. But that law is seldom enforced anymore!
