Nebraska Tractor Tests for performance. There are a number of tractor buyer's guides with prices and often serial number lists. Summaries of Nebraska tractor tests from 1950 to 1974 were published in a book buy the retired head of testing. I've found it handy for tractors of that era. There's a bigger and more expensive book with complete tractor tests. I've seen all of these books at Central Tractor in times past. If you want a tractor 50 to 60 hp to do real work, and have a JD dealer handy for parts, you can hardly beat a 3020 for capability and selection. There were a lot made and still working. Nothing newer fits my budget so I don't know about new stuff. Its easy to spend $1000 per hp and I can't make that investment pay. Gerald
