you will be overloaded at the 12000lb range but i know a good 350 or 351 would handle it. i guess the big question is how far will the average trip be at one time? 40-50 miles no problem. 200 miles one way....alittle too much! as long as you have a good trailer w/ brakes you should be alright. i pulled plenty of loads alot father then i should have with my '89 2500 w/ a 350. most of the loads were in the 10000lb range. i never had a problem. just take it easy. my 2 cents casey in SD
