Hi, Deano I'm working on a IH240U starter. Can you tell me what is used to carry the power from the solenoid to the interior of the starter? Mine had a #8 wire, connected to the solenoid by a common yellow crimp-on terminal, and cold soldered to the field coil connection. Of course it was severly burned because of its small size. I've tried a piece of #4 battery cable, but it doesn't want to bend in a small radius to meet the field terminal after it passes thru the square, rubber protector in the end of the starter case. I think an insulated flat copper bar may have been used. Can you describe how your solenoid is connected to the starter field coils? Thanks Savemor37@sbcglobal.net
