Good day folks,

I couldn't have said it any better than the fine folks who posted before me. We have a show here in southern Ohio each August and it is always a great one. That show was one of the reasons I got started on tractors and farming. We also have a few folks who sit around under their shade makers but not too many. That's the one thing that I dislike most about our show. I love to meet other old tractor guys like myself but it seems like you can never find any of them. Kind of disappointing actually. The best time comes before and after the daily parade during the show. That's the time I get to meet more of the other folks there. Good people that's for sure. Now, we also have a little care show on the Sunday of our show and they do buy trophies for those folks but I think they should set it up the same as for our section. They'd have more fun too. We also have an antique tractor pull on the Saturday of our show. They used to have trophies and such years back (one of our directors told me a while back) but they had trouble with the big pullers comin in and basically takin over. So, a few years back they dropped the prizes and made it a fun pull. You know, that pull starts at 9am and runs clear till 5 or later because there are so many guys in it. It is great. I pulled my farmall A in it the first year I went. They all kind of shook their heads when I pulled up but by george it pulled it right down the track and got me third place in the class. Of course, this year I pulled my J.D. R and won the class this time. But oh what fun. I love spendin the days before the show gettin my tractors out of the field, cleaning them up, and touchin up any paint dings so they're shined up and ready for the show. There's nothing better. Thanks for bringin up some wonderful memories folks. God bless.

Today's Featured Article - New Life for an Old Allis - by Tyler Woods. My friend Jon, has an old '39 Allis Chalmers B. He thought it a marginal tractor that had long since served its time. She smoked terribly and never had much power but he couldn't afford another so he was limping along with what he had. Jon's Allis has a small front loader and though it doesn't carry much, it serves his needs. It was the hard starting and low power that made him think it was time to replace the old girl. Jon called me to help him discover why his tractor wouldn't start ... [Read Article]
