Hello, this is my first time here and I was just looking for some input on a tractor I'm thiking of buying. I run a small sheep farm here (about 250 ewes) and we recently had a barn fire here in which I lost my tractor in the fire. It was a Belarus 425 four wheel drive 53 horse loader which suited my needs. I'm looking at replacing it and one of the tractors I'm looking at is a white 2-50 which is in GREAT shape and has only 2600 hours on it ($13,000 Canadian. My only concern on this tractor is the horse power seeing as it's only a 3 cylinder. The majority of use this tractor will get is in feeding 4 x 4 round bales of haylage in the winter so the tractor needs to be powerful enough to get through deep snow with a heavy bale on the front. I get all of my field work, except cutting hay done custom. I have a JD 1209 haybine and I also need the tractor for moving manure. I only put about 250 hours on a tractor a year so I have to be careful in what I spend to justify the cost. At this point this tractor seems to fit the bill but I was just concerned about the horse power. I had no problems with my Belarus but just wasn't sure about this White. Thanks very much for your input in advance. Jeffer

What’s even more amazing is that all the principals of hydraulic theory can be wrapped up in such a small package. This same package applies to any hydraulic system from the largest bulldozer to the oldest and smallest tractor. This short series will take a look at the basic layout of a simple hydraul
