The 8630 did go cheap, but it should- the 30 series engine is crap. Lucky to get over 2000 hours on it. Need to update to a 50 series engine or get Kinze to do a Cummins install for 15 grand. Then the farmer has a tractor. The IH in nothing to brag about, and if the Versatile was the Cummins 555, expect short engine life. All of them are good frames to stick a big, slower rpm Cummins into.
