I'm going to try changing the float level on a carburetor that I suspect is running too rich. It is on my Avery A that has a Hercules engine. The carb that is on it is NOT the factory carb. The factory carb calls for a Tillotson carburetor, this one is a Zenith (although it has the Bendix name cast into the carb body too). I do not know the carb model number, there is no casting number, brass tag, or number stamped into the pot metal body. It has a 2 3/8" center to center measurement for the mounting studs which are only 1/4" size. It is of the same design as most Zenith carbs that I've seen so if anyone has a fl0at level spec I would appreciate it. ONE OTHER QUESTION and that is about the high speed adjustment needle. The adjustment needle on this carb has a drilled hollow end (starting at the tapered end) which connects to another hole drilled just down the taper at right angles to the first hole. The two drilled channels meet one another. I've never seen one of these needles with a hole in it of this type. Does this sound right or might it be another part that someone has used incorrectly?
