Greetings from the Oregon "Willamette" valley..I have a little over 1/2 acre in garden that I've gardened for 40 years, off and on.( I leave it fallow every five years or so, depending on weather and my constitution !) Our soil is light loam, about four feet deep, great for gardening, but tough to get a fence post to hold without help. When I need to deep plough, I use my Farmall Cub with a fourteen inch plow, then follow up with my old John Deere 140 with a tiller attachment ( 3 foot swath) for cultivating, I use a small (actually their smallest)Troy-built tiller. Before I restored the Cub, I used just the John Deere and the Troy-built, and they do a fine job. I have cultivators for the Cub, but spacing is a problem, as is the "turn-around" at the end of the rows, have to watch out for the neighbor's fence ! Hope this helps, Jim

Jon called me to help him discover why his tractor wouldn't start
