Well, I guess the basic idea is that if they're hot when you put them in and peen them, then when they cool they'll grab even tighter. Sure wouldn't hurt, there's a lot of weight on those wheels. Never knew anyone who did that. Try asking your question on the Tool Talk forum, lots of knowledgeable types over there always willing to help.
