I have a 1050 with FEL and a 970 MFWD with FEL. You must keep you expectations realistic whether you balast or put agricultural tires on an 850 it will only have so much digging power. JD offeres a balast for the 3pt hitch when using a loader on a compact tractor. Theirs is basically a tank that you fill with water. Many people make their own with a drum and fill it with water, soil, sand or concrete. I assume you have turf tires for a reason. A 3pt weight that can be removed will allow you to do tasks such as mowing without the extra weight of ballast or wheel weights causing you to leave tracks on your lawn. Even with MFWD the 970 will not touch the 2wd 1050 because of the overall weight difference and tire size. Agri tires will provide a limited return especially when you consider the damage to you grass if the ground is the least bit wet. Try using your loader with the heaviest piece of 3pt equipment you have on the back and see how much it helps.
