I have 2 30RC's, one I use for parts.

If I can get a hold of a D camera I'll take a picture of my setup. It's made of 1/2in X 3 steel
and uses the 2way cylinder. I think the lift cam
rod is from another type of MH like you say maybe a 20. But even this you can make from 1 1/2in pipe.

You'll need a hyd oil reservoir bolted in front of the rad, a hydr pump that sits on the timing gear in front of the governor. I forget the GPM of
unit. You'll need 4000lb hydr (actually there's only around 1600lbs buildup, but I got the hose on special) line from the pump to the in port of cylinder. Put a swivel connector on one end or you'll end up turning the cylinder for every turn of the hose. You'll need oil resistant 200lb neoprene return hose from the cylinder to the oil tank as a return line (cheap).

On finding a place to bolt your cylinder, resist the temptation of using the transmission
cover access screws as a tie down. They are only
3/8in bolts that go thru a weak part of the casing. Use the side 5/8in bolt holes in the side of the casing.

Another point on implements and PTO. Your PTO
will be a little high for powered implements as
the double universal joint will be at max angle when the implement is at the lowest point. As you get down to the critical angle your transmission will start to pound. To try to find an answer to this problem I set out with my tape measure and measured PTO to ground distances of
various tractors. I discovered the IH tractors have the same height PTO's. So if your going to use implements look for IH (older) powered implements.

A snow blower I bought worked fine until I got 2in from the ground then it started to pound. I ended up placing skid plates 2in high under the blower. Everything works fine and it does a good job removing snow.

If I can get a hold of a dig camera I'll upload a pic.

Today's Featured Article - Harvestin Hay: The Early Years (Part 2) - by Pat Browning. The summer of 1950 was the start of a new era in farming for our family. I was thirteen, and Kathy (my oldest sister) was seven. At this age, I believed tractor farming was the only way, hot stuff -- and given a chance I probably would have used the tractor, Dad's first, a 1936 Model "A" John Deere, to go bring in the cows! And I think Dad was ready for some automation too. And so it was that we acquired a good, used J. I. Case, wire tie hay baler. In addition to a person to drive th ... [Read Article]
