It all depends on what tillage you want to end up with. I do a lot of custom rotavateing with my two Howard rotavators, and i always ask my customer what they want to end up with?? Do they want it ground to powder, or maybe left into clods like it's been chiesel plowed?? OR anything in-be-tween? With a Howard you can change the time speed to match the ground speed, so you'll end up getting what you want! Don't buy a cheapo tiller, cause if you do and you hit a rock or anything else, it will turn your tiller into junk fast!! AND, you WILL hit something sooner or later!! 1-3/3 mph ground speed won't be any problem, "IF" you match it to the right tine speed. I run my 6' Howard with my 45 hp Agco Allis, but that's probably a mininum hp for a 6 footer, depending on your soil type, and how accurate your tractor PTO is rated. Robert

Jon called me to help him discover why his tractor wouldn't start
