It depends like any thing else, what you plan on using it for.... A box blade is good for moving & spreading out dirt at a desired thickness. Also good if used w/ the teeth for gouging out & moving someplace else. Does not allow dirt to move or roll off the end. Straight blade let's the dirt roll to 1 or both sides. Usually does not come w/ the teeth like a box blade does. A straight blade is better in the snow, as when pulling or pushing, it rolls off to 1 side when the blade is angled. Get which ever w/ a thick heavy edge to it. A lighter blade will bend if when moving snow, you hit a piece of cement or a rock. Good luck....
