I had a similar problem with a Case VAC. A look inside the transmission showed a very worn third gear. I always assumed that was from the operator trying to get it into gear before the transmission had slowed down or stopped. Grinding it in so to speak. I have a couple H Farmalls but never have been into the trannys. good luck gobble
