I have only seen one single speed pto in any of the 70 Series that offered dual speed,, never have seen a 770/870 with anything but dual speed,, as for power shift,, no reason to fear one at all,, if you cant hear the reverse sound when they are in it after letting off the clutch its 100% operator error. I have tens of thousands of hours on many 70 series here on my farm,, and have repaired plenty of them others tear up again 100% due to operator error,, number one cause of failure on them is throwing away the filter relief cartridges,, next in line is never changing filters and feeding the same tiny particles through the system then sticking a pilot spool,, again if you cant feel this right off you have no biz operating equipment as its in two gears at once,, then you have the ones who come rolling in at full speed roading them and stomp on the inching pedal and make them shift three speeds all at once,, yes that will in time take out parts,, kinda like slamming a automatic in to low gear when doing 50 mph and having a 10K trailer pushing you at the time,, or running a hyd orbit motor with a 4020 powershift and not kicking the little lever on the power shift out and you do 10-15K damage in 20 min,, seen that done way to many times here,, again not the 4020's fault they did not bother to read the ops manual and follow correct operating procedure,, same with the RPS transmission
