That right there tells me you have the wrong starter solenoid. You need a solenoid that if you touch the wire to ground it starts.
You either ordered the wrong one or they sent the wrong one.
To check my assumption take a test light and check the big post on right and small post. You should have power at both all the time. If you have power at the big post on the right but not at the small post you have the wrong solenoid.
